In front of the wall in the Aida refugee camp. The Palestine Marathon has been held every year since 2013 around Bethlehem. As it was not possible to find a continuous 42-kilometre route without passing through an Israeli checkpoint, an approximately 11-kilometre route was defined, which must be completed four times.
When does a war begin and when does it really end? Traces remain in the landscape, emotional wounds are passed on to the next generation and the one after that. Post-war periods can become pre-war periods.
A long-term project by photographer Meinrad Schade on the consequences of military conflicts.
